Where Is Xur? Destiny 2 Exotic Location & Items (February 7-11)

Guardians are hard at work earning Polarized Fractaline for the Empyrean Foundation in Destiny 2 this week. As always, Xur has returned with a new batch of Exotic weapons and armor to help you fill out your ever-expanding collection of cool guns and clothes--provided you can afford them. Take a break from donating Fractaline to get yourself those Perfect Paradox god rolls to pay a visit to the Agent of the Nine. Here's where you can find Xur and everything he's selling.

Xur is located in the Tower this weekend, on the Hangar side. His Exotic weapon this week is Black Talon. Hunters can get the Knucklehead Radar helmet; Titans get a chance at the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, there's the Aeon Soul gauntlets.

Xur Location

To find Xur, head down to the Hangar side of the Tower (where Saint-14 and Holliday are found), then turn left and go past the Dead Orbit area. Take the catwalk stairs to reach the edge of the Tower, where you'll find Xur hanging out.

Xur Inventory

Bungie talked about changes coming to swords in its weekly blog post, and this week, Xur is offering Black Talon, one of the better blades you can find in the game. It's the only Year Two Exotic Xur is offering this week, and excels beyond other swords because it's capable of firing a projectile as well as cleaving your enemies in twain.

If Xur's wares aren't compelling, you can always roll the dice on the expensive Fated Engram he brings with him. This gives you a single Exotic from the limited pool of ones you haven't already earned, for the price of 97 Legendary shards. If there's something you're missing from your collection and you want it sooner rather than later, it can be a good deal--starting with the Season of Dawn, all Exotic Engrams are Fated Engrams, but you'll have to level up your Season Pass or wait for a random drop to get some. Be sure to purchase it on the character who's missing the Exotic, and note that you can only get one per week, so choose wisely which of your characters makes the buy. If you're a PC or Xbox One player taking advantage of cross-save, you can now potentially get Wavesplitter from the Fated Engram as well, thanks to the fact that it's no longer exclusive to PS4.

Xur Item Lineup (February 7-11)

  • Black Talon (Exotic sword)
  • Knucklehead Radar (Exotic Hunter helmet)
  • Lion Rampant (Exotic Titan leg armor)
  • Aeon Soul (Exotic Warlock gauntlets)

Black Talon

Swords are already pretty effective in a lot of Destiny 2 scenarios; if you can close the gap with them in PvP, they're devastating, and in PvE situations, you can slice up a lot of small enemies very quickly with a good blade. Black Talon is better than most, though, because it can also fire a powerful projectile, in addition to giving you a ton of up-close melee damage. In the Crucible especially, the Crow's Wings blast is hard to predict and harder to dodge for opposing players.

Knucklehead Radar (Hunter)

This is a tried-and-true Hunter PvP Exotic going back to Destiny 1. Knucklehead Radar is great in Crucible situations because it maintains your radar even when you're aiming down the sights of your gun. It also makes your radar more precise when you're crouching. Used well, Knucklehead Radar is an Exotic that can get you more kills and save your life in the Crucible.

Lion Rampant (Titan)

For Titans who like to be more mobile, Lion Rampant is a good get. The leg armor is all about aerial maneuverability, giving you better control while you're in the air. It also makes your guns more accurate when firing from the hip while airborne, which can all be very handy for Titans who like to do a lot of flying in the Crucible.

Aeon Soul (Warlock)

The Aeon group of Exotics work best when they're being used by a whole fireteam--they're generally kind of ignored. But if you and your pals are willing to go in on using them, they can be pretty effective in both PvP and PvE play, boosting you and your teammates whenever you perform certain actions. Aeon Soul gives ability energy of different types to your nearby teammates whenever you throw grenades, and the gains are best when everyone is wearing Aeon Exotics.
