Both Jordan Peele and Al Pacino have had great a 2019. Peele's horror movie Us was a massive commercial and critical success when it hit theaters in March, while Pacino got some of his best reviews in years for his performance in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman. The pair have teamed up for the new Amazon series Hunters, and the full trailer has arrived.
The show, which Peele has produced, tells the true story of Nazi hunters in 1970s America. Pacino plays the leader of the group, and much of the trailer consists of him talking to camera explaining that "there is evil among us," and that "the time to act is now." We then see Pacino's youthful team, followed by a quick montage of some of the violent mayhem they unleash. It looks dark, dramatic, and violent--and we can't wait. Check it out below:
This trailer follows the first Hunters teaser, that was released earlier this month. An official synopsis for Hunters has also been released. It reads: "Hunters follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City. The Hunters, as they're known, have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans."
Hunters was first announced in September 2018, when it had the title The Hunt. However, this was also the title of the controversial horror/thriller that was pulled from release in August, so it's not surprising it's been changed. There's no set release date for Hunters yet, but it will arrive sometime in 2020.
As for the Candyman reboot that Peele is producing, that's set for release in May 2020. It stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who appeared as Black Manta in Aquaman, can currently be seen in Watchmen, and was also recently announced for a role in The Matrix 4.
