PS4 Pro Hits Black Friday Price Ahead Of PS5 Release This Year

The PS5 may be set for a holiday release later this year, but with a handful of exciting PS4 exclusives on the way and the PS5's backward compatibility with PS4 games, there's more than enough reason to upgrade to a PS4 Pro now. Thankfully, the Amazon-owned retailer Woot has a great deal on the Pro, one that we haven't seen since Black Friday.

Woot is currently selling the PS4 Pro for $300, down from the original price of $400. The sale lasts until the end of February or while supplies last, and if you're an Amazon Prime member, you can enjoy free standard shipping.

The PS4 Pro is Sony's upgraded PS4, which is capable of outputting gameplay up to 4K--though most games choose to utilize checkerboarding or upscaling from a lower resolution to boost performance. It's currently the best way to play PS4 games, with nearly all titles supporting Pro enhancements.

As for the upcoming next-gen PlayStation, an official PS5 website recently went live. There's not much to glean from it at the moment, but it does suggest we'll hear more about it soon. In a recent earnings call, Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki talked about the PS5's price and how it's difficult to tell what it will be at this time.
