Netflix has just released its live-action series based on The Witcher and announced a second season incoming, but the company actually has another Witcher production in the works as well. An anime film, titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, is coming from the animation studio behind The Legend of Korra.
A tweet from Netflix's geek-focused NX account said the story will cover a new threat facing the continent. The tweet also confirms that The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and writer Beau DeMayo are behind this production. However, it doesn't mention Geralt or actor Henry Cavill--though the "wolf" in the title would seem to be a reference to Geralt's nickname.
The rumors are true, a new Witcher story is in the works! The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent. Brought to you by the Witcher team @LHissrich and @BeauDeMayo, and Studio Mir the studio behind Legend of Korra.

Studio Mir, the South Korean animation studio known for the Nickelodeon hit The Legend of Korra, has previously worked with Netflix on Voltron: Legendary Defender.
Netflix has stated it's happy with the success of The Witcher, calling it a massive new franchise thanks to a big performance in 2019. Hissrich said on Twitter that she's been keeping the anime film a secret for over a year, so it was in production long before Netflix knew what it had a hit on its hands.
The first season of The Witcher showed promise, but was held back by a confusing story structure, according to GameSpot's review.
