Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal Will Be Discounted On Release Day

Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Doom Eternal couldn't be more different, but they do share one exciting trait: their release date. New Horizons and Doom Eternal launch in less than a month on March 20, and we imagine there are plenty of folks out there who plan on picking up both. For those interested in slaying demons and picking flowers on March 20, Walmart will be selling Switch exclusive New Horizons and Doom Eternal for PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $49.94 each.

Spotted by Wario64, the $10 discounts aren't all that surprising. For the past year, the retail giant has routinely offered first-party Switch games and multi-platform AAA hits for $50 at launch. You'll have to go to your local Walmart store to save $10 on New Horizons for Switch, as the offer is in stores only for now. Pre-ordering online will still cost you the full $60.

The $10 discount probably gives Walmart the edge for most gamers looking to buy the Switch exclusive, but you have other New Horizons pre-order offers. Best Buy is giving away Tom Nook Phone & Tech badges, GameStop has two-sided posters, and ordering online from Walmart nets you a Tom Nook tote bag. Still, the $10 you'll save shopping at your local Walmart is more than likely worth more than the bonuses offered with full-price copies of the game.

Doom Eternal's discounted price is good both in stores and online for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The $50 price is the best Doom Eternal pre-order offer available now, and it comes with the Rip and Tear Pack, which includes the Doot Revenant Skin, Throwback Shotgun Weapon Skin, and a bonus campaign level.
