Earlier today Microsoft pulled back the curtain on a host of details regarding the Xbox Series X, one of which was a program that will allow you to purchase a game once and have it apply across both Xbox One and Series X, but only if the developer chooses to allow it.
CD Projekt Red, developer of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, has confirmed that it will support it for its latest role-playing game. In a tweet the company stated that "Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades," adding that Cyberpunk 2077 will be free on Xbox Series X for Xbox One players when it becomes available.

The wait for those versions might be long though. Cyberpunk 2077 was recently delayed to September 2020, and CD Projekt Red has said there are currently no plans in motion for Xbox Series X and PS5 upgrades until then.
Along with cross-buy programs, the Xbox Series X will feature 12 TFLOPS of GPU power, the ability to suspend and resume multiple games at a time, and support for four generations of Xbox games.
